hello my beloved class,

it's the start of the sept holidays and its just a week before we pass away and go to prelim heaven. but while everyone's busy under their pile of notes i have a proposal. and while this may seem a little premature, can we PLEASE GO TO THE ZOO AFTER THE EXAMS?!

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEEE!!!

i haven't been to the zoo in like... 7 years and that's just a bit depressing. and after the zoo! we can go jalan kayu and and eat prata and consume copious amounts of milo dinosaur. (i know scott will appreciate the mountain extra milo powder. hurr.)

and maybe if we delude ourselves enough, we might just be able to find A&W. curly fries and waffles. mmmmmm.

i know what you're thinking, something's wrong with the picture if bimin's talking about food. but we all have our moments. (;

twas was the last day of school. school as in lesson-proper school.

but this also means the start of all that mugging for prelims and A Levels. :(

the turnout this morning was not bad considering it was friday and usually the rests of the class will only turn up at 11am for lit tutorial. so we sat around the stone tables writing cards for mrs liew and reading teacher's comments on our PW. gosh, seeing the PW file brought back many painful memories frm the torment last year.

i'm craving for another oreo muffin now. darn.

anyways, scott decided to teach everyone how to fly again today. and this time almost everybody participated and the whole scene was quite funny. while some of us were doing, scott walked around checking whether we were doing it the correct way. NUTS. he apparently thought he was harry potter teaching us how to fight the dark arts or something, wah lao ... daniel hated his guts and gave him the nickname - HARRY SCOTTER.

just wanted to say happy mugging! you'll all be AWESOME! hahahha. my results are coming out on thursday and i am freaking out...you should be relieved that you still have time to MUG! hahaha ... nearly 3 whole months at that! i revised one week before my papers...ya! hahaha...soooo you'll all be more than FINE!

hope you all enjoyed national day...i thought the parade was beautiful...except for that ridiculous looking red lobsterish roller blader who fell when the commentator was praising the prowess of the three rollerbladers talent spotted just for the parade! haha..

as i have been ordered by one, weeyuting, to come and keep this blog alive, i will kindly comply. anyway, well done yuting! you have put the few photowhoring occasions to good use. we MUST photowhore more in our last 2 (oh my heaven) weeks together before prelims.

anyway, this is a very welcome break from the brain bashing world of ki and reading freaking university prospectus telling me that i must get AAA for conditional offers. Very Depressing.

so since i was one of the 3 people who actually turned up for national day celebrations on wednesday, let me tell you all what you missed. nothing much. (; but there were a few very classic bits. like teo in his army camo uniform, andre and christian riding into the parade square in the black jeep with the security guard dressed in batik waving at the crowd (very hilarious parody of the parade inspection), gohlayyen taking part in some teachers game and eating stuff blindfolded, and yours truly knocking her own glasses off her face and under mr seet's car during mass dance. forced patriotism is always fun.

oh, and very important announcement!

anyway, there's a statue of a foreign worker beside the sir stamford raffles statue along the sg river..never noticed it before.

to me, that perfectly encapsulates Singapore's identity.

the very buildings we're sitting in right now aren't even built by locals; they're all built by foreigners. we're a nation founded on enterprise and exploitation. if the combined pay of a maid and bangla worker not exceeding $1000 isn't exploitation, what is?

so who are the mysterious people employing this bargain-rate, dirt-cheap labour? that's where raffles comes in. Singapore's official story begins with Raffles landing on our shores, with some anecdotal references to sang nila utama and that guy who threw the rock very far and some other random stories forming the insignificant backdrop. to this day, expats lay claim to top positions in the corporate world and most locals either sell imitation western food, teach lit and get paid less than Mr Harris or take up other middle-management positions. that's where us real singaporeans come in. we take the middleground that the banglas and white expats cannot/don't deem to take.

lol im in a gd mood anyway im blogging mainly because i wna do some shameless selfpromotion. presenting my blog takeitall-.blogspot.com!!

anyway. lemme blog abt teacher's day! it was damn funny a million times better den dunmanhigh's celebrations seriously. hehe made a huge discovery that made my heart stop beating HAHA shhhhh its a secret people! secret! the pe dept is qte a hilarious bunch of ppl i really liked the video of them playing soccer qte pro! and the hokkien song and dance got me bitching hahaha walao that teacher skirt so short, top so lowcut ! tsktsk.

and the teacher impersonation was funny. mr seet cross dressed (complete with HUGE balloons as boobs which someone threw into the audience) and so did tanyewhwee. edna tan was right behind me screaming like a banshee. ya anyway it was overall a great concert!

A Revival

This blog has been quiet for awhile, but a11 has not. It has reached tarmun's attention that the noise pollution from the stone tables has caused severe distress to passersby in orchard road. It has gotten so bad that a kaypoh uncle has made sound recordings with his nokia N73 and sent copies to aMOEba and the VJC admin. Amoeba and other unicellular organisms have expressed disgust at the way a11 has been acting, and would like them to remember that they are representing a very important organisation.

Furthermore, I have been warned that this class has had too many entanglements with the rest of the school, from teachers, to the science fac, the GO, and even the cleaners in charge of the stone tables. If we want to avoid a deluge of admin problems, we are either to move table, or shut up the noisier members of our class (understand yuting?? understand??)

RAH! so anyways, while you guys tolerate w/ the super gay rainbow coloured background ... a new photo collage of the class is being constructed. ;p i decided to add in the background cos i figured white was BOOORING.

i hope you guys enjoyed your weekend. :)) my weekend was spent on performing for college day and Singapore Chinese Orchestra on saturday and ballet under the stars on sunday.

attempted to do the literature PC that harris assigned us, but then i gave up halfway! decided to do something more productive like thinking whether i should go for PE on monday. HAH. ;p

oh and in case you haven't the realised, the CALENDAR section in the blog is for us absent-minded souls to check for assignments and test of whatever. truth is, i didn't know what to use that last link for ... so i decided to set up our very own BLACKBOARD. aren't you proud that we are going high-tech, YAY. so i guess that means anybody who takes down assignments or what have you will be updating that section regularly. ;p

hullo everyone,
it seems like ageeessss since i've last seen you guys. am really missing a11, the stonetable-ing and all!
life has been good i guess. work's fine. i was put in charge of carrying out the trash runs for about a week or so and things got pretty messy... i split leftover coffee and chrysanthemum tea all over myself in the process. fortunately, the lao ban niang is terribly fond of me (HAHA) and got me off the rubbish collection job now that she's back from the US. basically, for $5/hour (exploitation of labour i tell you!) i do shelving, packing and ...most recently, some data entry, entering the particulars of members into some kinda system. i think the latter's going to get me really myopic by the time i'm done with it. pretty brainless stuff i guess but they pay me for it and i can't complain =)
apart from work, i've been doing lots of preparation for a trip to africa i'm going on in august with lots of RJ people (surprisingly friendly..haha), two HC girls, an ACJC girl and an international school teacher. basically, we're going to orphanages and elementary schools in Botswana to give them relief aid (clothes donated by marks and spencers, blankets from SIA etc), do mass feeding (preparing kaya toast and pasta) and play with the kids (we've been learning puppetry and we're gonna put up a puppet show and all!). yuppp, AND we're still looking for more DONATIONS! haha. soo if you wanna donate a little something to make the lives of these children a little better, do let me know!
